I wanted to share these series of videos with you. This is Nathan and he is a University Student at the University of Texas. He has Inattentive ADHD and he has compiled some amazingly useful tips for people with ADHD.
Nathan covers many things in these videos including:
Embracing the condition
Ways to find Focus
Ways to best manage your time
Making goals
Lifestyle matters
He has some very unique solutions for getting himself in the mood to get work done and for avoiding distractions. If you have a teenager or pre-teenager at home, show them these videos. Nathan speaks in an engaging and compelling manner about what has worked for him. He is articulate, helpful and truly interested in getting his message across and his videos are a great achievement.
Thank you for posting this! I think he is great. I had my 9 year old son who has ADD watch this with me. I thought he is such a great role model for our young boys who have alot of struggles in school and socially. He's been through it and can help them so much! I was enlighted to hear from a teenager and not a doctor and statistics, who has no clue what is like to not be able to focus in school.
ReplyDeleteKeep the videos Coming! I have so many ideas for him to touch on. Like, were you akward in gym in elementary school, problems focusing on sports? Did you have problems with handwriting? How did you keep up on writing notes in class? The list can go on and on.
I love the idea of noise reduction earbuds with white noise! Little things like this can make a huge difference!
Thank you again.

What a brave young man! My own son, who just turned 10, has ADHD. It's so nice to know that there are others out there succeeding. He's struggling in school right now, but my husband and I are trying different techniques to help him focus. Actually, there's some great advice at http://onlineceucredit.com/edu/social-work-ceus-td, if you're interested. Thanks for sharing!
